It usually consist of Steve loudly stating or demanding however you put it. That everyone is going to sit down and listen to a short lesson. There is usually a 5 min "round up" of the kids and then the fiasco begins.
If at first you don't succeed try, try again. A perfect motto for this.
Well several months have passed since a formal family night has been attempted and as you can see we actually had two kids not only present but into it. Bryson was who knows where we gave up on that. Josh was present and Steve was so shocked we had 2 of 3 little kids sitting down listening he had to document our success.
So far we have done this twice.
(don't want to drown them in family togetherness to fast, got to ease them in)
Its been good I think we will try again tomorrow.

That IS a perfect motto for Family Home Evening with young kids?! The only problem is getting up the energy and the motivation TO try and try again. Good luck Stookey family.
That is a very true to form FHE. However, our motto is a little more abrasive, ready...here it is...AHEM..."sit down, sing the song loudly, smile, and you WILL have fun or else"...how does that sound for perfect parenting? That'll teach 'em to love FHE, won't it now?
